Small Settlements
THYMENA is a tiny island just opposite the port of Fourni. It’s got a few inhabitants, loads of bays and the famous Kermidou beach, where you can chill and have a bite to eat. To get there, you’ll need to hop on one of the local boats.
CHRYSOMILIA is located at the other end of the island, about 18 km from Fourni. You can visit it by small boats, motorbikes and cars. At the beach of Chrysomilia, also known as Kambi, you can swim in the crystal-clear blue waters and try the delicious traditional food served by the local taverns. The second part of Chrysomilia is the upper part, where you can enjoy your coffee and ouzo in the only ouzo bar that exists, with a stunning view of the Aegean Sea.
Then there’s KAMARI, a place with a rich history where the old city is now underwater. You can swim and try the delicious dishes in the only tavern there.
It’s about 8 km from Fourni and you can visit it by local boat, motorbike or car.
KAMPI: a small settlement about 1.5 km from the port of Fourni that gets lots of visitors by sea and by land because it’s very close to Fourni and the beach is well organised. You can swim and try local products in the taverns there.
